Free Sounds, Hope Abounds - Jianda.net Feb 2007

Now Playing:
"Love's in Need of Love Today"
- Stevie Wonder

Good Morn, or Evening, Friends:

I come bearing gifts from the soul, updates from the Spirit Garden,
and free digital schwag. How are your sweet hearts? Peace and ease and
calm to you.

Nouvelle News:

*Chill for Life - Free Ji MP3*

Downtempo love, bumpin' through basslines. Visit Out Records for a
free download of the vintage release, "Chill for Life." M. Mehdi's
cool-water beats and Ji's audio treats make for some delectable fare.

*Stayin'Human - Replife Represents*

Dearest of the dear, Replife's forthcoming "the UNCLOSED mIND," to be
released this year on Futuristica, promises to take your mind through
to expansion and beyond! I'll be featured on one of the tracks there,
too. Keep your ears open for it, mkay? Visit his website for a glimpse
of all the good there is, and is on its way. Contact him, too, for a
free copy of his digi-mixtape "humanoid," including music by such
notables as Jazzanova, Roy Ayers, New Sector Movements, and more.

Visit, Vibe and Contact: http://www.replifemusic.net

*Multi-Dimensional Filmic Voyages - Tycho's Flow*

Tycho's new releases on Merck Records (Past is Prologue, Past is
Prologue Sampler, and singles on Squadron 2 CD and Box Sets) represent
a progressively impressive body of work. Influenced by the finest
electronica/ambient/IDM artists from the past and present, this new
release (an elegant extrapolation of his self-released Sunrise
Projector album) has been appropriately called a "soundscape--" a work
of art. My vocals are featured on a few of the tracks, a couple of
which are newly released. Highly enjoyabe, high-grade,
cold-lamp-apropos goodness.

Order / Hear Past is Prologue:
Visit Tycho: http://www.tychomusic.com

*Water, Love & Sunshine - All I Need for Feelin' Fine *

My track with DJ Freestyle on the Australia-based "Hemmesphere Five"
double-CD compilation's being well-received. 3DWorld coos: "The latest
Installment in the classic Hemmesphere Series: Summer On CD! 'I can't
find fault with the fifth instalment in the Hemmesphere series. [I]t
drifts effortlessly through percussive instrumentals, soulful grooves
and uber-chic lounge beats. Ideal stuff for a classy dinner party or a
lazy afternoon in the herb garden...'"

I also love that a lot of my hero(in)es are featured on it as
well, including: Lisa Shaw, Grace Jones, Nina Simone, Nouvelle Vague,
Roy Ayers & Basement Jaxx.

Other than that, I'll save all the truly edgy prose and such for the
gonzos, out there on the frontlines. Et moi, I've been taking a
one-year sabbatical from performing. Martinis, anyone? Meanwhile, my
music children have been reverberating hither, thither, zither, n'
yon. Ain't that some sweetness and light? Dag.

I've been following the formula: part work, part play, part restful
enjoyment in a Ji-way. I've been writing a lot of acoustic tracks,
creating digital art for love and rent, and have booked a couple of
performances for the months ahead. More recordings are coming, too.
Studio buttons and knobs, woofers and tweetz, they're really palettes,
you know?

Special thanks to Hillquest.com for the love and pics, Anji Bee and
Netteradio for the podcasting support and Thank You, for Loving Music and Art as Much as I do.

I'll keep you posted as the flowers continue to bloom.

Stay in Love,

Jianda

Suavecita

Suavecita

I've been out of touch, y'all, I know it. I've been clearing out the boxes in my life, and practicing being a well-rounded artist, and a full-on wife. The world's keeping busy and prolific this holiday season, avec moi, certainment, and this makes my heart sing. I can't help it, I keep producing. Next good idea would be to circulate. We rock it as we can. :O)

'Till then, party amongst yourselves, and please keep an hors d'ouevre warm for me.

Luv,

Chic-She

Novembering: JiandaGigs Update (With New, Improved Hyperlinks!)

Dear Hearts:

Happy and healthy November to you!

What feels good in your world today? This feels good in mine -- three
little words: "accept the possibilities." I just thought I'd throw a
random lovethought your way (keep in in your locket, or pocket, warm
and safe, 'kay?).

New stuff.

SHOW NEWS:

I'll be performing at Twiggs' Open Mike on Wed, 11/23. Yay! Live
JiStuff. It begins at 7:00 p.m., and there's a raffle at 8:30. Come on
down n' check it out! More info: www.twiggs.org.

Our Breast Cancer Support for the Cure/Think Pink gig went nicely on
Oct. 21 at Miracosta College. The info came last minute, so I couldn't
really send it along to ya. Thank you, lovely Carly, for all the
warmth surrounding that event, and always. Thanks to all who
participated and thanks for Miracosta College, Aly and all those folks
who invited me to come n' play.

Thank you also, to Darla, and to Today's Local
News/http://todayslocalnews.biz/ for covering the event and showing me
the newspaper coverage, and letting lots of folks in North County know
I'm out there sending musical lovenotes along the way to y'all (in
that order!).

JIANDA NEWS:

Music

Consider the news sprung: OM Records is featuring some of our music.
My good friend Patchen and I created a song called "Wish," and you can
find it floating around in the cosmos in these places:

1)Via OM Records' download pages at E-Music:
http://www.emusic.com/album/10875/10875692.html

2)On Kinkysweet Records' CD compilation (now in stores, more info as I
find it!)

3)On OM Records' upcoming OM Lounge 10 compilation.

Good googly-moogly!

Patchen and I will be working on more electronica projects, and I've
been writing so many songs on my acoustic guitar, I'm surprising my
own sweet self. Much recording will be done in the coming months.

I know Daniel Gray-Kontar's out there in the world making music mixing
magic with our upcoming track, "Y'all." More feelgood stuff, yes, yes,
yes!

Thanks, Rollo . . . As Always.
